Bo Cook Landscape & Garden Design takes personal data collection seriously and takes appropriate steps to ensure your electronic data is stored securely via methods including password protection, two-step authentication and data encryption. If we share (with your permission) your data with a third party, we do so with the agreements that the third party stores your data securely and will not use it for marketing purposes.
Visitors to our Website
At Bo Cook Landscape & Garden Design, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our visitors to our web site. Here you’ll find information on how we treat data that we collect from visitors to our website.
When someone visits www.bocook.co.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. Our website is also on the Squarespace platform and they collect the same level of visitor data. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google or Squarespace to make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. Data collected includes IP addresses, country of visitor, pages visited and duration of visit, and where the visitor has come from (direct, social media etc). This data is retained for 24 months before it is then deleted.
Our Contact Form
If you choose to use the contact form, your contact details are stored in the email in our secure email account. Contact Form emails are stored for a maximum of 2 years, unless you are a client – when your data is stored securely in our secure email archive for 7 years after the completion of our service, which we deem as long as is necessary for legal requirements, to provide our ongoing service to you, and to be able to contact you in connection with this service in future.

How Do We Collect your Data When Make Contact With Us
- We collect data via our web contact form.
- We collect data when you contact Bo Cook by phone or email or in person.
- We collect data when your representative contacts Bo Cook on your behalf.
- We may take photos of your property (with your permission) that may identify your location.
What data do we collect?
As standard we collect your name, address, phone numbers, and email address so we can reasonable carryout our services. We may find out other information such as your children’s ages, specific health requirements etc for design purposes only. We do not ask your job title or employment status, although this data may be automatically provided via email signatures/addresses.
How do we use and store your data?
We use your data in order to provide our design services and you can be provided the relevant goods and services associated with our design service. We take photos (with your permission) of your property in order to provide our design service.
We use a number of softwares in order to run the business and carry out our services. All data collected is stored on the computer and is all secure using methods including password protection, two step verifications (when online) and encryption (backups).
We also store your data in the office in paper form within folders. We bring these folders on site meetings and then return them direct to the office.
Your data will be stored for an appropriate time so we can carryout our services. Your data will be stored for 7 years after our services are complete in accordance with the requirements of the HMRC.
Sharing your Data
We do not share your data with any third party so they can use it for advertising or marketing. We may – with your permission, give your data to third parties in order to carry out our design services. This may include surveyors, contractors, suppliers, and other professionals such as planners, structural engineers etc. We may have to provide your data to our professional service providers such as accountants when requested.
