Client: Garden for a young family in Lewes, East Sussex.

Style: Low impact.

The design brief was to create a low impact garden for a family with young children, to create zones and journey through what was a simple, level rectangle plot. As the garden was on the floodplain, all surfaces were to be permeable to ensure the garden wasn’t going to add to flood risk. We designed gravel paths and lawn areas with plenty of planting, with a small growing area for the children. Planting design was naturalistic, so the garden nestles in the natural environment, and also ‘borrows’ from the wider landscape.
